This office ensures that all Youth Speaks collateral, events, and designs carry a consistent Youth Speaks vibe.  This person also conducts the research necessary to plan and execute a marketing strategy that will get word out about Youth Speaks and our events, wordshops, and classes. 

Debangshu began writing hip hop under the tutelage of an underground Queens based Hip Hop group called Heavy Medal at the age of sixteen. He went on to teach and perform in the local New York City spoken word scene throughout his high school years and was featured on radio shows and in venues such as the Whitney Art Gallery and at Urban Word, the New York Youth Speaks affiliate.

During college at Vanderbilt University, he continued performing spoken word both solo and in various collaborations. In 2007, he created Vanderbilt Spoken Word, Vanderbilt’s first hip hop poetry group. As a testament to his hard work, Vandy Spoken Word sold out the 500 seat Neely auditorium for their Spring show. He also began reaching out to Nashville’s youth by initiating a Spoken Word workshop at East Library. He is an active hip hop emcee and poet seeking to incorporate hip hop into psychological therapy.
